I like the petrified wood. I wonder how old it is?
This toy is the coolest.
Didi loves her stuffed bunny!
Thanks for the other stuff too -- the big useful bag, the Supreme Court booklet, the orange shirt, etc. I'm happy now :-)

tag #000133 License plate pencil holder

Hi Brian!
I didn't realize that this picture doesn't really show off the beautiful pencil holder very well. :) But anyway, this is my desk and there it sits. I am located at a school near Terre Haute, IN. I teach High school art. It hasn't been stolen and that makes me happy. I love it. The golf club heads will go on that desk as well...they are at my parents’ house at the moment though. I will attach a pic of it and the candleholder soon.
Hope you like… Not your average teacher, not your average pencil case.
Cheers Margaret

tag #000763 I Am Loved Button

Dear BT
I have recieved your I Am Loved pin and I wanted you to know that, yes, I have given it to some one I love. My closest friend told me about your site.  I was interested and decided to check it out for myself.  I showed her the pin and she thought that it was very special.  My same friend was recently attacked by her mother with a knife.  As you can imagine, she was feeling a bit down, so it was extremely convenient that I had just happened to have ordered this pin for her.  It really made her feel better.  Thank you for sharing this piece of your life with us.
Sincerely, Kira

tag #000815 Towels

Hi BT,
i bought your towels maybe about 7 of them or so. I bought them in May for the upcoming home birth of my baby. Well, my baby was born at home in June and we used your towels to clean up things afterward. Then we washed them and they came clean and good enough for all kinds of things -- wiping up the floor after baths and showers, laying the baby down on the carpet on a towel in case she "spits up" (vomits).
Thanks for sharing your life with us! :)

tag #000247 Mickey Mouse watch

Hello, didn't catch your name, but thanks for giving me the opportunity to purchase your Lorus Quartz Mickey Mouse Watch. If for some reason you decide that you want it back, I will sell it back to you for what I have invested in it. You seem like a very likable guy and I would like to become friends with you. No I'm not gay, married to a wonderful woman for 30 years, it's been hell, but I'm still here. I am a collector of Mickey Mouse Watches, mainly because I am a Janet Munro fan, she starred in Swiss Family Robinson, the young girl who escaped from the pirates. She died at the young age of 38 of heart failure, and I didn't even know she was gone until just last year. Cried for a month or two. I have always loved that woman and now I crave for any and all Walt Disney articles, also anything to do with Janet Munro. You can visit her web site at janetmunro.com sometime when you have nothing better to do. I purchased your Mickey Watch from you, and I will take great care of it, and as I said, if you ever decide that you want a little of your memories back, I will sell it back to you, just because you are a super nice person. I leave you now, with this thought: May the sun always shine for you!!!!

tag #000548 Buffett tapes

I may have took the same gift for my graduation had they been available. I'm an old Buffett fan from way back. You wanted to know where your tape's new home will be. Since my wife has kicked me out of the basement and closed up my bar to make way for a family room. I have moved into the garage. I moved what I wanted to keep up there. I installed some heat and a fireplace. All my stereo equip. is in there. C.D, 8 track, l.p, and cassette so I hang out there sip a cold beer and listen to music. you can bet I will enjoy your Buffett tapes for a long time. I will pass them on when It's time for me to break on through to the other side. If you ever want them back let me know. Thanks a lot. My dad always said: Son, you came into this world with nothing and you will leave with the same!
Good luck on your endeavors.

tag #000249 candle

I am the gal that purchased the arched tea light candle holder.  It was very nice and looked lovely in my apartment, too.  I have since moved from Michigan to South Carolina and sold it at a yard sale (had to raise funds for the move).  I explained to the buyer where I puchased it and the AMLFS story so maybe she will contact you too.
Thanks.

tag #000549 Cassette tape collection

I don't know what became of my high school tapes. My kids are too young to get CD players (they scratch CD's up too quickly), but I bought them cassette players & your audio tapes (that are stamped parent approved) will be loved again. Thank you.

tag #000276 Jimmy Buffett pin

Hi...received the pin today and have added it to my jacket!! I got the jacket last August at the Orlando Margaritaville and decided I'd like to collect pins to put on it. I'm a huge Buffett fan so your pin makes an excellent addition. Thanks so much and love your web site too. Good luck with it.

tag #000458 Radio Control and #000461 Popular Electronics

Just wanted to let you know that my friend really enjoyed the RC Models magazine. The picture on the cover even bears a passing resemblance to him.
I brought the other two Electronics hobbyist magazines in to work, a nuclear power station. One of the engineers was one of Rickover's nuclear power trained submariners, years before I was. I was holding the magazines and the guy saw them from across the shop and homed in on them. They caught as much attention in the Instrumentation and Controls Lab as if they contained centerfolds. Not sure if I will ever see those again.
Thanks for a very reasonably priced trip down memory lane for some ex-navy nuclear electronics techs.

tag #000107 Flashbulbs

I actually hadn’t planned on using them for their intended purpose.
I have a variety of old cameras that I use for decoration and I wanted to have flashbulbs in them for the display. The M2B Flashbulbs were just what I needed thank you very much.
I have attached a picture of how they are displayed, and yes the good looking kids in the photos are mine.
Thanks again,

tag #000112 Kodak brownie camera

Brian,
The Brownie camera came today and arrived safe and sound. I was hoping you'd toss out the box and just send the camera & flash because I'm living a very cluttered life in a rapidly shrinking house. In short, I'm a collector, in my case, camera collector. Now I have a box I can't part with. I think we both may have the same problem, except you're selling it on eBay and I can't! I'm addicted.
When you reach your implied goal (assuming you ever do), you'll have nothing but a bank account full of money. Then what are you going to do? You're going to run out and spend the money on more junk and start over!!  Just wait and see if I'm not right.
About the camera..., well, it may be awhile before I get time to use it because it uses 620 film, and I'll have to re-roll 120 film onto a 620 spool. Besides, I have a lot of other cameras - maybe 150 to 200. Some I bought cheap, some were given to me, and some (pinhole cameras) I made. But the Brownie Twin 20 is destined for an easy life, living on a shelf in the cluttered house of a sanity-challenged camera collector in Miami. Maybe someday I'll load it and take it to South Beach. Hmmmm.

Brian,
I attached a picture of your disks new home. You say you are copywriter. I was wondering if you could tell if there is a specific office you have to send work to for it to get copywritten. I write
poetry and I was going to look into getting some of it published. I want to get some of it copyrighted and I also do some photography and I was going to look into copyrighting some photo's that I have taken. I was just wondering if you could give me any info.
Thanks,

Thanks, Brian.
Your BoM is mine only temporarily. I bought it to give away. We host international students, and often find that playing BoM together is a nice ice-breaker when we invite them over for the first time. I like to have extra ones around to give as souvenirs, when the students are on their way home again. So it looks like your monkeys are going to go to Korea, or maybe China.
Say Bon Voyage to the BoM!

tag #000220 Disney Barbie

Hi Brian,
I bought this Barbie for my granddaughter. It will be put up for a few years until she is old enough for it. She is only 2 years old right now. I am planning to collect a few more for her, and hope that Barbie means as much to her as it did for me while I was growing up. I even had one that talked when you pulled the string in the back of her neck.
I gave my HUGE collection I had as a kid, to my daughter when she was too young. They got ruined, and it made me very sad. I learned a lesson on that one. This one you sent is just beautiful, and in excellent condition.
Thanks again, Kim

tag #000428 cups & saucers

Hey man, what can I say? first off, I found you through one of my favorite sites (cockeyed.com) -love that guy...but when I read about your current experience and what you are facing and going through...it sounded familiar, like I had heard about you somewhere before, I dont know, late at night in the car listening to AM radio as I was driving somewhere between Las Vegas and Boise, or maybe something I read on the net previously. I'm not sure.
And I guess it probably dosent matter.  When I saw the opportunity to participate -albeit, in some small capitalistic way- in your life, I wanted to make a gesture, I dont know, not really something meaningful, or necessarily deeply insightful. But SOMETHING in some way that was reaffirming to you, and what it is your doing with your time.  After careful consideration, I reviewed your current possessions for sale at ebay.  Finding the bootonwear cups and saucers was perfect.  When I read why you had purchased them to begin with, it made it even more so.
My wife of 19 years, ( my high school sweatheart ) and I are somewhat individuals out of time.  That is to say, we prefer the past and what now a days is loosly termed "nostalgia".  Furniture, houses, clothes, music, cars (which I build) whatever...Deb (my wife) is a great collector of all things such as bootonwear.  It's pretty much what we eat off of every day.
When I saw the cups and saucers, I thought how cool would it be to surprise my wife with a new addition to her collection, and moreover, to participate in your efforts as already mentioned here in this email.
I guess the capper for me was the fact that you bought them because they reminded you of the color of the tile in your grandmothers bathroom.  I can relate to that on a personal level, because the color for me, takes me back to a bathroom we had in this really old house that we lived in as a family when I was like 6 years old, and were living in Thousand Oaks, Califorina. Sorta the same dog, different leg kinda thing.  Anyway, to help you answer your question wondering about if our possesions help to define who we are.....In todays disposable society where EVERYTHING up to and including people are sometimes viewed as commodities, its hard to make a case that "you are what you own". For us, me and my wife- I can tell you that we take great care in what it is we buy, and why. Maybe thats the reason we have to some degree turned our backs to such an extent on the current day world, and prefer things -material or otherwise- that remind us of the past. Viewed through a romantic rosey haze or not, I think we feel, most "things" that have been around a while deserve a good home, and not just to be tossed aside for the next latest and greatest widget.
I think we are to some extent the sumation of our lives experiences. And, in this culture at least, alot of our life long experiences are influenced by the consuption of material things. Items, scents, music, all have the ability to transform us, and take us back to what may be a more preferential time personaly for us. Evoking memories either good or bad. Hence the reason why YOU purchased the cup set originaly.
What will your item do for us? Well, firstly, it will make a great present for my wife, and second your cups will remind me not only of a past I prefer to present day, but everytime I see them or use them, I am going to think of you, and your story, and about your grandmothers tile, and my own, old bathroom.
thanx man, kewl stuff! good luck.
(if you care to see who it is that bought your stuff in a little more depth, check me out at my shops website, pretty much everthing I am I get to express in the work I have been doing for the past 20 years on old cars)....... www.tinyskustoms.com

This is a gift for the administrator or our site, everydaywomeneverywhere.org because no matter how her life goes - health problems and a pending divorce, on medical leave from a job and therefore never enough money for herself, she always is more concerned with the health and well being of others and this will be a way to remind her that all of us are thankful for all the things she does for others, and I thank you for putting this in the auction since I know her and her 2 children will love micky and fantasia!!
Thank you!!
