my towels

When I left for college, mom bought me a set of light blue towels. And in the ten times I’ve moved since then I’ve managed to lose every one of them. How do you lose a towel?
But what’s ever weirder is that I’ve never bought new towels. So how in the heck did I get these?
If any of the 19 roommates I’ve had since college still have one of my original towels maybe you can loan it back to me after these are sold?
