Stack of strangers’ old recipes

The day before Easter of 2002, Stac and I stayed at Chrissy’s and she taught us how to make nut and poppy seed rolls from Grandma’s recipe.  The night turned out to be even more fun than we expected because we made a few batches of Grandma’s pina colada recipe too.
While I tried to control a rolling pin and Stacy manned the blender, Chrissy opened another can of drink mix and discovered Grandma’s “special” recipe printed on the label.  It felt like she was laughing right along with us.
That night inspired me to save these abandoned recipes from thrift stores and estate sales.  It seems a shame to let them get thrown away.
I had the idea to write a fictional cookbook with a short story to go with each found recipe, but I think Maya Angelou beat me to it.
So if your grandmother didn’t pass down any of her culinary secrets, master a few of these and pass them on to your kids.
